Water Features |
|
Water features offer some unique challenges to the design and implementation of the pumps and plumbing. One concern is the minimum submergence requirements of the pumps. Whether the pumps are positioned horizontally or vertically, they must have sufficient water to cover the pump. This surrounding water provides the cooling for the submersible motor that is not oil filled. A lack of this cooling water can cause the motor to burn itself up. Another concern with minimum submergence is vortexing or starving the pump. These are powerful pumps and require enough water to meet their pumping capabilities and still maintain the minimum submergence requirements. If you have any questions regarding the sizing of a pump or pumps for your applications, please give us a call or an email with your specific questions. We will be glad to help answer your questions. Or click on our distributor page to find a distributor close to you. These individuals deal with water feature applications on a regular basis and can be a great source of information, not only about our products but other complimentary products as well. See the Pump Specifications page for pump performance curves and details on specific pumps.
