Carry Strainer Screens are designed to enclose the Stainless
Steel Axial-Flow submersible pumps and help prevent debris from clogging the
pump and causing motor damage. They do not impede the flow of water past the
pump. Carry strongly recommends these screens in areas where debris or muck is
likely to be contained in the water surrounding the pump. Strainer screens are
available for either vertical or horizontal style pumps.
VERTICAL
STRAINER SCREENS:
The Stainless Steel Axial-Flow Submersible pump is anchored
to the bottom of the vertical screen using 2-1/2" diameter UHMW plastic
base pads and Stainless Steel fasteners. These UHMW plastic base pads are used
in place of the Buna Urethane base pads that come standard on the Stainless
Steel Axial-Flow Submersible pumps. They have excellent abrasive resistance,
chemical resistance and dielectric properties and operate in temperatures from
-26o F to +180o F.
PVC AND HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE
STRAINER SCREENS: The PVC Strainer Screens are
manufactured with SDR 35 PVC pipe and high density polyethylene (HDPE) top and
bottom sections. The screen portion is perforated with 1/2" holes. These
holes make up 37% - 40% of the surface of the screen and allow for water flow
while restricting debris from reaching the pump. The PVC screens do not have
support poles.
HORIZONTAL
STRAINER SCREENS
Carry Strainer Screens are also available for horizontally
mounted axial-flow submersible pumps. Strainer screens are available in
PVC and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The screens are similar to those
used for vertical pumps. However, on horizontal pump strainer screens the
urethane rubber base pads are used to support the pump and screen assembly. The
bottom plate section of the pump screen is also drilled with 1/2" holes for
increased water flow.
